Wagonhound Land & Livestock
In the recent 2023 National Stock Horse Association (NSHA) show in Fort Worth, Texas, two outstanding Wagonhound Land & Livestock mares, Autumn Amanda and Shiners Diamond Lady, showcased their legacy by producing exceptional performers that made waves in the show pen.
The ranch, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Douglas, Wyoming, prides itself on producing exceptional horses that can hold their own in the competitive world of multiple Western performance horse disciplines.
Autumn Amanda
One of the crown jewels in the Wagonhound Land & Livestock program is the home-bred mare, Autumn Amanda. She is the half-sister to Amanda Stargun, the dam of nearling $1.2 million in earnings. It’s evident that exceptional genetics run deep in this family line.
The star of the 2023 NSHA Open Derby was Autumn Amanda’s daughter, Autumns Smokin Cat. Sired by WR This Cats Smart, a top 2 NRCHA leading sire since 2016, Autumns Smokin Cat was piloted to the winner’s circle by NRCHA Million Dollar rider, Sarah Dawson. The talented duo clinched the championship title, securing a remarkable $30,000 in earnings.
Shiners Diamond Lady
Shiners Diamond Lady, another exceptional mare at Wagonhound Land & Livestock bred by Carol Rose, boasts a pedigree anchored in Rose’s legendary performance sire, Shining Spark. Her foals have collectively earned an impressive $246,161, underlining the quality and talent she passes on to her offspring.
At the 2023 National Stock Horse Association show, Shiners Diamond Lady played a pivotal role in showcasing the ranch’s breeding prowess. With four performers
Eye Candey, a 2020 mare sired by WR This Cats Smart, and the young stallion Cowboys Code, by Once In A Blu Boon, were both finalists in the 2023 NSHA Open Futurity Open where the talented duos added $4,750 and $3,000 to their total earnings, respectively.
Smart Ladies Sparkle, a 2015 mare sired by WR This Cats Smart, showcased her many skills. With Matt Koch aboard, they placed in the top 10 of the NSHA Open World’s Richest Stock Horse. In the same event, Smart Ladies Sparkle split 8th in the Intermediate Open adding a total of $4,500 to her lifetime earnings.
In the 2023 NSHA Boxing Spectacular Non-Pro event, Shiners Diamond Lady’s legacy was celebrated yet again as Shiners Diamond Cat, a 2014 mare also sired by WR This Cats Smart, claimed the championship title. Shown by Jessica Draper, the team earned $2,645.
Through the outstanding performances of Autumn Amanda and Shiners Diamond Lady’s remarkable foals, the 2023 National Stock Horse Association show served as yet another reminder of the exceptional linage and mare power at work here at Wagonhound Land & Livestock.
